AgraPoint opened its doors (as the Agricultural Development Institute) in 2001 with one office in Kentville, Nova Scotia and eight team members. Shortly thereafter we opened an office at AgriTECH Park in Bible Hill/Truro, Nova Scotia. In 2005 we added a new Quality and Food Safety Division (with a team member based in New Brunswick) and by early 2007 we had grown to close to 27 team members.
AgraPoint is a government agency (the Nova Scotia Minister of Agriculture is our shareholder) and an incorporated company. In 2011, it is anticipated that we will be formally transferred to the Nova Scotia Agricultural College, although operational linkages have already been.
Our clients include provincial and federal governments, provincial and national commodity associations, agri-businesses and farming operations, food processors, fisheries, and leading national chemical companies.
