This course is a great means of fine tuning your auditing skills for doing internal audits of your own facility. It is also effective preparation for the ASQ Certified HACCP Auditor Exam (please note, the exam is not included in the course). This course follows the internationally recognized Body of Knowledge established by the ASQ.

In this program, you will learn:

  • HACCP system terminology and definitions used in the ASQ Certified HACCP Auditor exam
  • Audit expectations for management responsibility, prerequisite programs, implementation, program maintenance, validation and verification under a HACCP system
  • Requirements for the HACCP auditing process and fundamentals of auditing
  • Required auditor competencies
  • Different HACCP auditing tools and techniques and how to use them

Based on the Body of Knowledge for the American Socieity for Quality (ASQ) Certified HACCP Auditor Certification, this program will cover:

  • HACCP System: scope; management responsibility; HACCP terminology; and prerequisite programs
  • HACCP Principles: preliminary tasks
  • Implementation and Maintenance of HACCP Systems: implementation and assessment; validation and reassessment; and verification and maintenance
  • Auditing Fundamentals: basic terms and concepts; purpose of audits; types of audits; audit criteria; roles and responsibilities; and ethical, legal and professional issues
  • Audit Process: audit preparation and planning; audit performance; audit reporting; and audit follow-up and closure
  • Auditor Competencies: characteristics of an effective auditor; conflict resolution; effective communication techniques; interviewing techniques; team membership, leadership and facilitation; and verification and validation
  • Quality Tools and Techniques: quality control tools; quality improvement tools; descriptive statistics; sampling methods; process capability; and qualitative and quantitative analysis
