On November 23, 2011 at the Nova Scotia Federation of Agriculture Annual General Meeting, the Nova Scotia Minister of Agriculture, The Honourable John MacDonell and Deputy Minister Paul LaFleche announced the intention to join AgraPoint, the Atlantic BioVenture Centre and AgriTECH Park, including its new Innovation Centre, into one entity.
This new company will support the agriculture industry in a new and exciting way. It will integrate all the services and expertise needed to help grow the province's agriculture industry. Production expertise, food safety services and value-added support and development, including a new incubator and pilot plant, will be under one management and work together to be a catalyst for change in the industry.
The entities are expected to join in Spring 2012.
Another exciting development is our Kentville office move. To support working closer with both provincial and federal agriculture staff, our Kentville team will be relocating to the Kentville Agricultural Research Centre in late April 2011.
More news of these developments to come in 2012.
